The right cuts in the right places. We shape your hardwoods to handle storms, look balanced, and live for decades. No topping. No hacking. Ever.
Mature overly-large trees are the ones that take out roofs in a hurricane. We thin the canopy properly so wind passes through instead of catching it.
Year-round maintenance plans for homeowners and HOAs. Scheduled visits, documented work, predictable budgeting. Science-based care that saves you money and preserves your trees over time.
Not sure if your tree is sick, safe, or worth saving? We walk your property, tell you straight, and provide a written care plan with no upsell.
Every pruning job performed or supervised on-site by our ISA Certified Arborist. No commissioned crews. No "while we're here" upsells.
Every cut placed at the branch collar, sized and angled to compartmentalize. Your tree closes the wound naturally - cheap crews leave gashes that rot from the inside.
The industry over-prunes because it sells more work. We follow the ANSI A300 25% rule - less is often more.
Topping, lion-tailing, and hurricane cuts are malpractices that kill trees slowly. If the crew bidding against us can't produce a certification number, ask why.
Every cut and fee written down before we start. No surprise charges. If the job runs long, that's on us.
ANSI A300 pruning for South Florida's large hardwoods. No topping. No hacking. Just healthier trees, a safer property, and curb appeal that holds for decades.
Get My Free Pruning QuoteSouth Florida hardwoods are not regular trees - and the wrong cut today kills the tree over years. Topping, lion's tailing, and hurricane cuts are industry malpractices that weak-stub the canopy, trigger aggressive epicormic regrowth, expose the trunk to sunscald and decay, and dramatically shorten the tree's lifespan. At ArborCentric Solutions, every pruning cut follows ANSI A300 standards - placed at the branch collar, sized correctly, and angled so the tree can compartmentalize and heal the wound naturally.
Our ISA Certified Arborist (#FL-6022A) holds the FL ISA Prescription Pruning Qualification (PPQ) and a B.S. in Forestry - credentials most tree companies in South Florida don't have. Every pruning visit follows the ISA 25% rule: never remove more than one quarter of a tree's live crown in a single session. We'd rather prune less than prune wrong.
We prune every major hardwood species across our service area - live oak, laurel oak, ficus (including banyan and strangler fig), mahogany, black olive (shady lady), and maple - across Jupiter, Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Stuart, Hobe Sound, and all of northern Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
For most South Florida hardwoods, late winter to early spring (February–April) is optimal - after cold temperatures pass and before active growth accelerates. Pre-hurricane season pruning (April–May) is also strongly recommended to reduce wind resistance before tropical storm season. Light corrective pruning can be done year-round, but heavy structural work is best done while the tree is dormant or semi-dormant.
ANSI A300 Best Management Practices recommend removing no more than 25% of a tree's live crown in a single pruning session. Removing too much foliage at once stresses the tree, depletes energy reserves, and can trigger aggressive epicormic regrowth or accelerate decline. We'd rather prune less than prune wrong - less is often more. Our ISA Certified Arborist follows the 25% rule conservatively on every job.
Tree topping is the indiscriminate cutting of large branches back to stubs. It creates massive wounds the tree cannot seal, triggers weak epicormic regrowth, exposes the trunk to sunscald and decay, and dramatically shortens the tree's lifespan. ISA and ANSI A300 do not recognize topping as an acceptable practice. ArborCentric uses crown reduction back to suitable lateral branches instead. No topping. No lion's tailing. Ever.
Yes - when done correctly. Properly thinned canopies let hurricane winds pass through rather than catching them like a sail. Removing deadwood, crossing branches, weak unions, and co-dominant stems before storm season significantly reduces the risk of branch failure or whole-tree failure during high-wind events. Improper pruning (topping, lion's tailing) actually makes a tree more dangerous in a storm.
We specialize in large South Florida hardwoods - live oak, laurel oak, ficus (including banyan and strangler fig), mahogany, black olive (shady lady), and maple. Each species has different biology and is pruned to species-specific standards. One-size-fits-all pruning kills trees slowly. We tailor every cut to the species in front of us.
An ISA Certified Arborist is trained in tree biology, ANSI A300 pruning standards, and structural assessment. Our arborist holds ISA Certified Arborist #FL-6022A, the FL ISA Prescription Pruning Qualification (PPQ), and a B.S. in Forestry. Most tree services do not have a credentialed arborist on staff, and that's where bad pruning starts - cuts that look fine today but kill the tree slowly over years.
In the arborist industry, "tree pruning" and "tree trimming" are often used interchangeably by the general public - but they're not the same. Tree pruning is a precision practice grounded in tree biology: every cut is placed at the branch collar, sized correctly, and chosen for structure, health, or safety. Tree trimming, as it is commonly done by landscapers, is closer to hedge-clipping and ignores tree biology - leading to topping, lion's tailing, and decay. ArborCentric does real tree pruning to ANSI A300 standards, not generic trimming.
Tree pruning cost depends on tree species, size, canopy condition, and access. A small ornamental tree may cost a few hundred dollars, while structural pruning on a mature live oak, ficus, or banyan can cost more. We provide a free on-site tree pruning estimate from a certified arborist - itemized, signed before work begins, with no hidden fees. Investing in proper pruning every few years is far less expensive than the eventual cost of removing a tree damaged by years of bad cuts.
Previous Work
Quality work! He came through in the best way. His equipment is very high tech and compact. Robert fit into our food forest and removed a dead pine without damaging anything! Truly amazing. We recommend him 100%.
Robert with ArborCentric Solutions went above and beyond and did amazing work! He was very knowledgeable of the trees and plants on my property. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.
Our Association recently had Robert and his crew from ArborCentric trim a number of trees on our property. We were very pleased with their work, cleanup, and professionalism. Their price was very competitive - they will be the first company we call next time.
ArborCentric Solutions prunes hardwoods across Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Stuart, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach, Port Salerno, Palm City, and Sewall's Point.
